Kristi Eastin: Kristi was a professional mountain bike and road racer from 1995-2000. Having won nearly all of Nor-Cal’s challenging road races over her career, Kristi knows how to train for going up hills. She has extensive coaching experience ranging from elite racers to beginners and everything in between. She and her husband developed the cycling program for the Central California Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's "Team-in-Training" (TNT) fund-raiser, with the goal of providing professional, on-the-bike instruction and instilling a life-long love of cycling.

After retiring from the professional racing circuit, Kristi devoted her attention to her education. After receiving her B.A. in English Literature, she earned her Ph.D. in comparative literature at Brown University. While at Brown Kristi helped to mentor and develop some of New England’s collegiate talent, men and women alike. She now works closely with a local charitable cycling organization as a mentor, and as a coach for up and coming U 23 and junior racers. Kristi now spends her days teaching Latin and Humanities at a California State University at Fresno in California’s central San Joaquin Valley. The small town of Clovis which she calls home sits at the foot of the great Sierra Nevada mountain range in central California, which is replete with 10 mile + climbs in pristine alpine scenery...a cyclist's dream, and ideal training ground for Thomson Bike Tours.

Curtis Eastin: Curtis raced as a Category 1 during the early/mid-1980s through the early 90s before quitting cycling because of an injury and starting college. Never too far from cycling, he coached riders (one of whom is now his wife, Kristi, who raced as a pro MTB racer and road racer for six successful seasons). He and Kristi also developed the cycling program for the Central California Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America ("Team-in-Training" [TNT] fund-raiser program) and for two years worked as a coach for some 250 riders of all abilities. After college Curtis began grade school, and while in grad school, Curtis has been working with the Yale Collegiate Cycling Team as a coach/mentor. While at Yale Curtis saw the Yalies win three IVY League titles, and one Collegiate DII National Championship. In his last few years of grad school, Curtis took to racing for fun in the North East where he rode for the Targettraining Elite Master's Team, competing in both master's races and in P/1/2 races. He now races with one of the winningest "old-guys" squads, Sierra Pacific Racing Team, in Northern/Central California. What does he do when he’s not riding?? Curtis currently spends most of his time (whenever he's not riding his bike, at least) teaching Greek, Latin, Classical Greek and Roman Humanities at California State University, Fresno. Summers are filled with travel, research, racing and TBT trips.
