Overview
Our Denia early season cycling camp is a rewarding experience for experienced, performance-driven, competitive road cyclists who are eager to kick-start their season and achieve their racing goals.
Challenge yourself on some of Europe’s best tarmac; training on the same roads as numerous World Tour teams who also choose this magnificent region to prepare themselves for race season. You’ll build speed and endurance, but also form lasting connections with Thomson staff members and fellow cyclists who share a passion for the sport. At the end of each day relax in the 5-star Denia Marriot La Sella resort, the preferred hotel of so many World Tour pro teams.

Welcome to Dénia!
Your Cycling Camp starts at Alicante Airport where our staff will meet you before the short transfer to your hotel in Denia.
After lunch, orientation meeting and bike build-up, you’ll head out for your first ride in Denia featuring the magnificent climb to Port de Bérnia.

Coll de Rates
Today we have our first long ride and like so many of the professional riders who train in the region, we’ll head for the Coll de Rates and the long steady climb to the Port de Confidres.
Both these climbs are hugely popular with the pros so don’t be surprised if someone comes flying by you, it’s probably just another pro rider doing some hill repeats.

Coll de la Garga
Another big day in the saddle with 3 categorised climbs on the agenda. Riding from the hotel, the first 35km to the town of Calp are relatively flat before you head inland and the climbing starts. The first real workout starts at Km 60 with the 10km Col de la Garga, a stunning climb on a narrow road with magnificent views of the surrounding sierras. From the Col de la Garga the climbs follow in quick succussion, ending with the fantastic descent through multiple switchbacks to Pego and the final 25km back to the hotel.

Active recovery
After the last 2 big rides, today you’ll enjoy an active recovery ride – which in Spain essentially means a coffee ride. You’ll ride out towards the coast where your guides will stop for a well-earned coffee and Spsnish pastry at one of the best coffee shops in the area. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the hotel, resting up for the big rides to come.

Port de Tudons
After yesterday’s recovery ride, your batteries should be fully charged and ready for another challenging ride on the Costa Blanca.
Today’s ride is one of the favourite endurance rides for the pro teams. At 157km with over 3300m of elevation gain, it’s a challenging ride, with the main difficulty, the 15km Port de Tudons coming after 70km.

A shorter ride today to recover from yesterday’s long ride and prepare for the final long ride tomorrow. The Coll de Rates features on the ride again followed by the remote climb to the Port de sa Creueta and teh long descent back to the hotel.

Vall d'Ebo
The last ride in Denia and an opportunity to enjoy a magnificent ride and since it’s the last day, leave it all on the road!
There are two main climbs on this route, the famous Vall d’Ebo and Port de Tollos, but with multiple “rollers” along the route, this is the typical legbreaker ride, perfect for the final day. Leave it all out there!
